1. Anti-static measures
   When installing an optical module, anti-static measures must be taken whether indoors or outdoors, and you must ensure that you touch the optical module with your hands while wearing anti-static gloves or an anti-static wristband.
2. Pick and place operation
   It is strictly forbidden to touch the golden finger of the optical module when handling the optical module, and it must be handled with care to prevent the optical module from being pressed and bumped.
3. Disassembly method
   When removing the optical module, you must first pull out the fiber jumper, then pull out the retaining ring of the optical module, and then slowly take out the optical module. It is forbidden to pull the optical module out by force.
4. Measures to prevent the module from not being inserted in the end
   When installing the optical module, insert it firmly to the end, and then feel a slight vibration or hear a “pop” sound, which means that the optical module is locked in place. When inserting the optical module, close the handle; after inserting, unplug the optical module again to check whether it is installed in place, if it cannot be pulled out, it means that it has been inserted to the bottom.
5. Measures to prevent light port pollution
   In order to avoid cross-contamination of the optical port due to the contamination of the end face of the optical patch cord, the end face of the optical fiber patch cord must be clean before inserting it into the optical port.

The optical modules that are not in use must be installed with dust caps (no dust caps can be replaced by optical fibers) to avoid dust pollution. If the optical module is not used for a long time without a dust cap, the optical port must be cleaned with a cotton swab when it is used again.

6. Measures to prevent overload optical power
   When using the OTDR meter to test the continuity or attenuation of the optical fiber path, the optical fiber must be disconnected from the optical module first, otherwise it is easy to cause the optical power overload and the optical module to burn.

The input optical power of the long-distance optical module is generally required to be less than -7dBm. If the input is greater than -7dBm, an optical attenuator needs to be used to increase the optical attenuation. The formula is as follows: Assuming that the optical power of the transmitting end is XdBm and the optical attenuation is YdB, then the The optical power must satisfy X-Y<-7dBm.
